9th-11th graders take the PSAT in October. In December or January the test results are given to the students to take home. Next step: Have your student go to www.collegeboard.com and create their User ID and Password and complete the Student Profile if they haven’t already. They must keep this User ID and Password safe and remember it for all of their high school years. After your student has set up their account, have them go to www.collegeboard.com/quickstart and access the PSAT online Score Report and SAT test prep information. To access QuickStart, the student must enter the access code printed in the upper right corner on their PSAT Score Report. The access code begins with an “B” and ends with a “T”. If the student has lost their access code, email jtravis@1bcs.org with the student’s name and grade and the access code will be emailed back to you. QuickStart is a free online personalized planning kit for all PSAT test takers. It presents their data in 4 main parts: (1) Online Score Report - an enhanced score report that allows students to review each test question, the student’s answer and the correct answer with answer explanations. (2) SAT Study Plan - a customized SAT study plan based on their PSAT test performance, highlighting skills for review and practice. (3) College Matches - a starter list of colleges based on the student’s state and indicated choice of major. (4) Major & Career Matches - major & career matches that are compatible with the student’s general interests & personality type. If you have any questions, contact Jamie Travis.
